I'm raising it for My Royal, because the Royal gave me back my life
In 2014, a motor scooter versus car accident left me comatose for 12 days in the Royal Brisbane's ICU, starting my recovery journey from a severe brain injury. After my time in ICU, I spent six weeks as a patient on the RBWH neurosurgery ward before transferring to brain injury rehabilitation for seven weeks of treatment.
Two years later my working life brought me back to the Royal Brisbane, where I started employment as a Physiotherapy Assistant. This amazing hospital has given me back so much, so I'm doing the same. I'm giving back to the place which had a hand in saving my life.
Starting on June 10, I'll be running an incremental half marathon spanning 21 days. Day one will see me running 1km, followed by 2km on day two, 3km on day three and adding one kilometre every day until day 21 when I will run 21.1km.
All money donated to my fundraising page will assist in funding medical research, equipment and other initiatives that ensure patients achieve optimal health outcomes at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
Click 'Donate' to make a secure online donation and help me reach my goal. Every donation, big or small, will help me get there. Please donate today.
All donations over $2 are tax deductible and you will be issued with a tax-deductible receipt via email as soon as you make your donation.
